Networking Wine Tasting at Averys

On Thursday 2 May we will be holding a networking and wine tasting evening at Avery’s Wine Cellar, Bristol, 9 Culver Street Bristol BS1 5LD.

This event is kindly sponsored by LEAP Legal Software who have enabled us to reduce the price for the first 20 people to sign up (see below).


The wine tasting will start at 7pm and end at 9pm.

There will be a glass of champagne upon arrival, followed by a tutored tasting of 7 wines (including fine wine). The wine tasting will be accompanied by nibbles, including artisan bread, cheese, pâté and hummus.


Please join us for this relaxed networking event – all women working in the legal sector in/around Bristol are welcome.

Tickets are £35 per person, payable in advance. The first 20 people to pay will be charged a reduced price of £25 per person.

International Women’s Day 2023 – Embracing Equity: Collective Action Towards Change

The Law Society in association with Bristol Law Society & Bristol Women Lawyers Division will be celebrating International Women’s Day 2023 on 16 March; 11.45am-2.00pm with a webinar Embracing Equity: Collective Action Towards Change

The Law Society Women Solicitors Network (WSN) Committee invite you and your colleagues to our panel event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023. The event will be run as a hybrid event, with us live streaming the London event to a Bristol audience. The in-person Bristol event will be kindly hosted by Simmons & Simmons, Aurora, Finzels Reach, Counterslip, Bristol, BS1 6BX and will run from 11.45am until 2.00pm with refreshments.

Equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have. But what is equity and what does it mean for women in the legal profession?

Join our panellists for International Women’s Day 2023 as we explore what it means for women solicitors, what barriers are blocking true equity in the profession, and what we can collectively do to create lasting change and a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and safe.

Reignite your career, reignite your life: post lockdown career inspiration

We know that the pandemic has been tough on women’s careers, particularly for women with school age children. Yet, with any crisis comes opportunity. Remote and flexible working is here to stay, with many organisations embracing technology and new ways of working.

The Reignite Academy creates opportunities for lawyers to return to work after extended career breaks. During the last two years, they have helped many women return to careers in private practice and are now moving to in-house roles.

Stephanie Dillon & Lisa Unwin, two of the co- founders, will join us for an inspirational and advice- packed workshop for anyone ready to reignite their legal careers.

They will describe their experience of how the pandemic has opened up opportunities for women to return and will share tools, tips & techniques to help you get your career back on track. They are working with a number of firms in Bristol and Bath and will also talk about specific opportunities for
our area.

Celebrate International Women’s Day with Women Mean Biz – 8 March

Women Mean Biz are passionate about supporting women in business from all walks of life, to be the best that they can be, find fulfilment, joy and financial freedom. This year Women Mean Biz is hosting their own IWD event, supported by lots of supporting partners including the Women Lawyers Division Bristol.

All women are invited to join this online event on 8th March 2021:

This 90 minute IWD event will bring together women in business across all sectors to celebrate International Women’s Day! 

You will have the opportunity to hear from two inspirational speakers as well as contribute to discussions around the impact of, and solutions to, every-day sexism, gender-based violence, within a culture of misogyny and inequality. There will also be some networking too, using the break out rooms for people to connect and find out about each other, and what IWD means to each of you.

Mayda Mapondera – Founder of our charity for this event, SHE.  We will hear about the amazing and important work that SHE are doing to give young orphaned girls in rural Zimbabwe a chance for an education, and hope for an independent future.    

Sophie Turner – talking about “What skills do we need to Challenge effectively?” Sophie is the Founder of #YesSheCan, an organisation that helps women to break their career glass ceiling and works alongside progressive businesses to positively impact Diversity & Inclusion. Sophie is a qualified D&I professional who will be sharing her knowledge so you can learn what skills are needed to challenge effectively.
